New features in this release include:

MRP New Features

Memory-based Planning Engine (BETA)

The Memory-based Planning Engine is a new planning engine that drastically reduces planning run times. The engine's architecture also gives users greater access to the system during planning runs.

There are five main features of the Memory-based Planning Engine that improve its performance and capability:

enhanced loop-checking: you can detect loops introduced by discrete and nonstandard job component requirements;

better low-level calculation: because component changes from Work in Process and Bill of Material information appear in a single structure, the planning engine performs loop-checking and low-level calculation in one step

shorter preprocessing and setup times: previously, all required data had to be loaded into the planning tables before the planner could run; with the Memory-based Planning Engine, planning occurs in memory, following the snapshot phase, without waiting for the planning tables to load

locked tables not required: the Memory-based Planning Engine gathers consistent views of supply and demand data without locking users out of the system

flexible configuration: you can specify the number of Workers available to perform snapshot tasks, taking advantage of hardware resources

Graphical Plan Display

You can now generate an Excel spreadsheet and charts for the current or snapshot supply/demand information of one or more items. See: Generating a Graphical Display of Planning Data

Current and Snapshot Data in Planner Workbench

You can view current or snapshot supply/demand information at any time within two MRP runs. From the Horizontal View window, you can view detailed current or snapshot data for your item(s). From the Enterprise View window, you can view summary current or snapshot data for your item(s) across multiple organizations. See: Reviewing Current Data.

Planner Workbench

The functionality to display the organization, effective dates, and assignment information for items in your bill of materials has been added. See: Reviewing Source and Destination Organizations.
