What's New in This Release

Siebel Global Deployment Guide provides information about deploying Oracle's Siebel Business Applications globally.

(The updated content reflects 8.0 changes in Configuration Wizards, removes mention of the srvrcfg utility, and clarifies database-related requirements.)
About UTC System Preferences	Clarified how the Time Zone setting in the user profile relates to the Default Time Zone system preference.
Creating New Language Subdirectories	Updated or added some steps (part of localizing unshipping languages).

Language	Clarified that language-specific seed data for non-primary languages must be separately installed into the Siebel Database for new installs. When you upgrade the Siebel Database, all existing languages are upgraded at the same time.
Configuring Cascading Style Sheets to Specify Different Fonts	Added font information for Linux platforms.
Verifying Bidirectional Capability	User interface elements now automatically display from left-to-right or from right-to-left, according to the locale you are using. No configuration is usually required.
Configuring Case and Accent Insensitivity	New topic. Query features are enhanced to provide indexes that directly support case and accent insensitive (CIAI) queries on eligible text columns.
Running the UTC Conversion Utility Manually Launching the UTC Conversion Utility Performing UTC Delta Conversion	The instructions for running the Database Configuration Wizard and the UTC conversion utility have changed. For details on launching the Database Configuration Wizard, see the Siebel Installation Guide for the operating system you are using.
About the Localization Process Using Siebel Tools	The Locale Management Utility (LMU) has been enhanced. Specific enhancements are described in Using Siebel Tools. LMU limitations previously noted no longer apply.
