Upgrading the Siebel Analytics Platform With an Older Repository

You can upgrade to a newer version of the Siebel Analytics platform (Siebel Analytics Server and Siebel Analytics Web Server), while keeping your current version of the Siebel Analytics Web Catalog and repository and current Siebel operational application with its existing repository and schema. Upgrade only the Siebel Analytics platform components (Siebel Analytics Server and Analytics Web Server) to the later version. The Siebel Analytics Web Catalog and repository remain that of the earlier version.

The steps to perform a platform upgrade are shown in this section. For a discussion of the best way to perform the upgrade, see Upgrading Siebel Analytics Platform for Integrated Applications.

To upgrade Siebel Analytics Platform only

1. Back up the Siebel Analytics repository, Web catalog, NQSConfig.INI and license files.

   NOTE:  If either the instanceconfig.xml file or Analytics Windows registry strings have been customized, these should be backed up for comparison to the new installation's instanceconfig.xml file or Analytics Windows registry strings. If the customizations are still viable in the new release, they should be applied accordingly.

2. Install the Siebel Analytics software for the desired upgrade version.
3. Copy the files backed up in Step 1 back to the appropriate directories.
4. For integrated deployments that use Siebel Analytics through the Siebel Business Application, such as Siebel Marketing, perform the following additional steps:
   1. Navigate to Site Map > Integration Administration > Symbolic URL Administration
   2. Query for *NQHOST* in the URL field.
   3. For all records, select Change Records from the menu and change the URL field from

   http://NQHOST/nquireweb/nqwebapi.dll

   to

   http://NQHOST/analytics/saw.dll
