Adjusting Calculated Compensation Manually
After you run the calculation engine, you can create adjustment transactions to update compensation. This allows you to make last minute changes before releasing the compensation. For example, you can override the calculated amount by adding to or subtracting from a compensation amount. When the adjustments are completed, you can roll up the totals for the period using the adjusted amounts.
To make a minor adjustment to a transaction
- From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation Tracking > Calculation Workbook.
- In Calculation Workbook list, select the participant for whom compensation will be adjusted, and then drill down on the hyperlink in the Last Name field.
- In the Calculation Details list, click Manual Adjustment.
If the Manual Adjustment button is inactive, this record is included in a calculation run that has already been released. In this case, you cannot perform a manual adjustment.
- In the Calculation Details record, enter an adjustment amount, and in the Comments field, enter remarks.
The adjustment amount can be either positive or negative.
The adjustment updates compensation amount in the Calculation Workbook and updates the Compensation Earned in the Calculation Summary. Draws and Draw Totals are also updated to reflect the changes. End users see the adjustment record in their compensation statements.
