Submitting a Territory for Approval


After you submit the sales hierarchy territory, it can be approved or rejected. Submitting the territory automatically submits assigned positions and crediting rules.

To submit a territory for approval

  1. From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation Sales Hierarchies Administration > Territories.
  2. In the Territories list, select the territory to be approved.

    The territory record has a status of In Progress.

  3. In the Status field of the territory record, select Submitted from the drop-down list.

    In the territory record, the Submitted To and Submitted Date fields are automatically completed. After a territory position or crediting rule is approved, it becomes read-only.

Submitting Multiple Territories for Approval

You can submit multiple territories in the sales hierarchy for approval.

To submit multiple territories for approval

  1. From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation Sales Hierarchies Administration > Territories.
  2. In the Territories list, perform one of the following steps:
    • Select the first territory, press the SHIFT key, and then select another record to select a block of territories.
    • Select the first territory, press the CTRL key and then click the next territory record to select multiple, nonconsecutive territories.
    • Click the menu button, and choose Select All to select the territories in the list.
  3. In the Territories list, click the menu button and choose Change Records.
  4. In the Change Records dialog box, change the Status field from In Progress to Submitted.

    This action submits the selected territories for approval.

Adding a New Territory Position After Approval

You can add a new position to an approved territory, however you must submit the newly added position for approval.
