Creating a Territory
In addition to creating a Sales Hierarchy and Sales Hierarchy Version, you must create territories for your hierarchy. To create a territory
- From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation Sales Hierarchies Administration > Territories.
- In the Territories list, click New, and in the new record, enter a name for the territory.
- In the Hierarchy field, click the select button, and in the Sales Hierarchies dialog box, select the hierarchy and click OK.
- Complete the remaining fields.
The following table describes the fields.

Manager who approved the new Sales Territory. |
Approved Date |
Date that the manager approved the new Sales Territory. |
End Date |
Date when the territory is no longer effective. |
Hierarchy |
The sales hierarchy associated with the Territory. |
Name |
Name of the new sales territory. |
Organization |
The name of the organization that can access the sales hierarchy version. Automatically populated. You can change the default value. |
Rules Source |
Territory from which the credit rules are copied. |
Start Date |
Effective starting date for the new Sales Hierarchy. The start date is automatically populated. You can change the default value. |
Status |
Predefined status options. When a version is created, the default status is In Progress. Other options include Submitted, Approved, and Rejected. |
Submitted Date |
Date when the Territory was submitted for approval. Automatically populated. |
Submitted To |
When the Status changes to Approved, this field is populated with the value of the administrator's direct manager in the position hierarchy. |
