Siebel Web Server Extension (SWSE) enables communication between Siebel eBusiness Applications Web Clients and Siebel Servers.

Siebel eBusiness Applications are a family of Web-based applications that users access through a standard Web browser. These applications use several server components to service the Web clients:

• Web server. Client Web browsers connect to Web servers to display Siebel Web Client applications.
• Siebel Web Server Extension (SWSE). A plug-in extension that runs within the Web server and that communicates with the Siebel Web Engine on the Siebel Server.
• Siebel Web Engine. Part of the Application Object Manager component on the Siebel Server, such as the Call Center Object Manager. Provides access to Siebel eBusiness Applications data and logic.
