This guide is now a stand-alone guide containing all of the procedures necessary to perform z/OS and OS/390 upgrades. You no longer need to use the Upgrade Guide as a companion to this guide.

How to Perform the Upgrade

New chapter. This chapter contains checklists for performing z/OS and OS/390 upgrades.

Upgrading a Database from the Mainframe

New chapter. There are now two ways to upgrade a development environment database: from the midtier or from the mainframe. Review this chapter for information on upgrading a development environment database from the mainframe.

Upgrade Planning for Address Migration

New topic. The way addresses are stored has been changed at Release 7.7. Review this topic to determine how to handle table customizations.
