validated resource

A resource whose value Siebel Quote Assistant prevents from becoming negative.

value

(1) The quantity assigned to an element such as a variable, a symbol, a parameter, or a label. (2) The contents of a field.

vartype

The internal tag used to identify the type of value currently assigned to a variant. This tag is one of the following:, Empty: 0
Null: 1
Integer: 2
Long: 3
Single: 4
Double: 5
Currency: 6
Date: 7
String: 8
Object: 9

variable

A symbol or name that stands for a value. Variables can represent numeric values, characters, character strings, or memory addresses.

variable scoping

The level of accessibility of variables in Siebel VB scripts and Siebel eScripts to other scripts. Levels of variable scoping include local, modular, global, and interapplication.

Visual Basic is a software language. See Siebel VB.

Vehicle breakdown rescheduling

Rescheduling to accommodate emergencies, like vehicle breakdown, sick days, overtime on previous service calls, and so on. This type of rescheduling does not require reoptimization.

vehicles

In Siebel Finance, specific financial entities such as private equity, public equity, private debt, public debt, convertible assets, and debts or derivatives.

view

A display panel consisting of a particular arrangement of applets. The Siebel application window displays one view at any given time. Users can change the currently active view by selecting a filter from the Show drop-down list.

view tabs

You use view tabs after you have selected the record you want to view or change. The view tabs show detailed presentations of data related to the selected record and screen. The view tabs appear in the bottom part of the application window, below the screen tabs. The list of available views depends on which screen tab you have selected. Click a view tab to display the desired data for the record you have selected. For example, you may be looking at an account in the Accounts screen. Clicking the Contacts view tab displays the contacts associated with this account. See also screen tabs.

View Access visibility

A set of restrictions on a user's access to views in a Siebel application. See also responsibility.

View object type

A Siebel object type that presents one or more applets together on screen at one time.

virtual business component (VBC)

A Siebel eBusiness Application Integration (eAI) component that allows Siebel applications to manipulate data managed by an external application as if it were stored within the Siebel database.

Virtual location

A logical grouping of inventory locations; for example, West Coast Inventories.

virtual product

A nonphysical entity that is used in a modeling environment to facilitate implementation of some business logic. For example, it can be an item called Red in the category Phone Color. See also category.

visibility

A set of data access restrictions that define what each user can see. See also Manager visibility, personal visibility, Record-access visibility, routing, Sales Team visibility, and View Access visibility.

visibility event

A database change that causes a change in the visibility of related data.
