Configuring the JVM

To use ATG Customer Intelligence, you must have a version 1.5 JVM installed. You will need to add some security extensions to this JVM before using ACI.

  1. Copy the specified .jar files to your 1.5 JVM’s jre\lib\ext and jre\lib\security folders if they are not already present:

    <ATG9dir>\ACI2007.3.0\c8\bin\jre\1.4.2\lib\ext\bcprov-jdk13-125.jar

    <ATG9dir>\ACI2007.3\c8\bin\jre\1.4.2\lib\security\local_policy.jar

    <ATG9dir>\ACI2007.3.0\c8\bin\jre\1.4.2\lib\security\
    US_export_policy.jar

  2. Make sure that your JAVA_HOME variable is set to the 1.5 JVM.

Note: Cognos 8 requires Sun Java in order to run on Linux. Using the Oracle JVM will result in startup errors.
