Misconfigured lock management can cause extensive problems for Oracle ATG Web Commerce applications. To check your lock management configuration:
On all Oracle ATG Web Commerce instances running the
DAF.Searchmodule—which should include asset management, production, and staging if used—use Dynamo Server Admin (see the ATG Installation and Configuration Guide for information on using this tool) to view the/atg/search/routing/repository/SearchConfigurationRepository.Find the
lockManagerproperty, and click on the component value (for example,/atg/dynamo/service/ClientLockmanager).If no lock manager has been assigned, assign one now.
In the lock manager component, ensure that
useLockServeris set totrue, and that the same values forlockserverPortandlockServerAddressare used on all Oracle ATG Web Commerce instances.Ensure that a
ServerLockManageris running on the host and port referred to by theClientLockManagercomponents.See the Locked Caching section in the ATG Repository Guide for more information.
