Stacking rules prevent customers from taking advantage of unplanned stacking effects among your promotions. (Coupon batches are another way of preventing customers from spreading promotions that you would prefer to target narrowly; see Adding a Coupon for information.)

Warning: Stacking rules are created in Oracle ATG Web Commerce Merchandising. Stacking rules created or edited in the ACC are not supported. See the ATG Merchandising Guide for Business Users for information.

You can view stacking rules in the ACC. Stacking rules have the following properties:

  • Name—Unique name of the stacking rule.

  • Maximum promotions per stacking rule—Determines how many of the promotions included in the stacking rule can be applied to an order. A value of -1 means there is no limit.

  • Exclusivity—Specifies stacking rules that cannot be combined with the current stacking rule. To add rules to the exclusivity property, click the field beside the Exclusivity property and then click the “…” button within it. Click Add, and either select from the list or create a new stacking rule that does not combine with the current rule.
