Specify the type WWW Text File Asset in order to add a file that contains editable text—for example, HTML, JSP, or plain text. By associating this type with text files, the system can display appropriate text-editing features for this asset.

To add a text file to a project as a new asset, follow the procedure in Adding a New Asset and supply values for the following fields:

WWW File System

Asset Type

WWW Text File Asset

File Name

The asset’s name.

The file name should be unique within its target folder; and optionally it has a filename extension appropriate for its type—for example .txt, .html, or .jsp. Although not required, appending the correct extension facilitates editing the asset, by enabling the system to identify an appropriate editor.

Text field | Uploaded File

The asset’s text, either manually entered or pasted into the text field, or uploaded from an external source file, via the Uploaded File field. For Uploaded File, specify the source file to upload by clicking Browse, or entering its path manually.

You can only use one of these fields to supply the text source. If you upload an external file, its contents appear only after you click Apply and refresh the page.

Parent Folder Path

(optional) The folder to store this asset. By default, all new assets are stored in the ATG root directory (\).
