Viewing an asset’s history lets you see when the asset was created, the version numbers associated with each check-in, a listing of the different times the asset was checked in, and the identity of the user who created or modified the asset.

To view an asset’s history:

You can use the Compare Selected Versions button to compare the properties of two versions of an asset. See Comparing Asset Versions for more information.

Two restrictions apply to viewing an asset’s history:

  • An asset’s history is available for viewing only after it has been checked in.

  • If the Business Control Center is open while a versioned repository purge executes, the asset history that is shown after the purge completes might be invalid. Attempts to access a purged asset version will cause errors. In this case, exit the Business Control Center and log in again.
