Description
Processor
8-core, 2.6 GHz, 85W Intel E5-2630 V3 processors
  • Two processors with four integrated DDR4 memory controllers per processor. Processors with the following capabilities are supported:

Memory
Four 16-GB DIMMs and four 8-GB DIMMs for a total of 96 GB of memory. Only RDIMMs are supported.
Storage
Twelve 3.5-inch hot-pluggable SAS HDDs on the front panel.
PCI Express (PCIe) I/O slots
Six PCIe Gen3 slots that accommodate low-profile PCIe cards:
  • Slots 1, 2, 4, and 5: x8 electrical interface, contain NVMe PCIe Flash F160 cards.

  • Slot 3 contains a dedicated InfiniBand (IB) adapter.

  • Slot 6 contains a dedicated 12-GB SAS PCIe RAID HBA.

Ethernet ports
Four 10GBASE-T Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) RJ-45 ports on the rear panel.
USB 2.0 ports
Two front, two rear, and two internal.

Note -  One internal USB port is preinstalled with a USB. The USB drive contains the GRUB boot loader for the operating system.

Video (VGA) ports
One rear high-density DB-15 video port.
Service processor (SP)
The storage server has an integrated service processor (SP). The SP provides IPMI 2.0-compliant remote management capabilities. The SP features:
  • Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) 3.2.4

  • Local Oracle ILOM command-line access using a serial connection

  • Support for Ethernet access to the SP through a dedicated, 10/100/1000BASE-T management port (NET MGT) and optionally through one of the host Ethernet ports (sideband management)

  • Support for remote KVMS (keyboard, video, mouse, and storage) over IP

Power supplies
Two hot-swappable and redundant 1000W power supplies.
Cooling Fans
Four 80-mm, hot-swappable fan modules. Each fan module contains two counter-rotating fan pairs. Each power supply has its own cooling fans.
Operating system
Exadata preinstalled operating system (OS) image located on hard disk drives 0, 1.
