Query types
Queries are errors, warnings, or questions related to data that does not meet certain criteria. The OutcomeLogix application might automatically issue a query during data validation or a sponsor user, such as a clinical data manager or medical monitor, might manually create a query when reviewing a visit or form.
- Automatic (system) query—Issued for an item by the OutcomeLogix application when a user skips an item or submits data that does not meet certain criteria. The query appears immediately after data submission and the user can respond to it before data review.
Data entries that trigger automatic queries are configured outside the OutcomeLogix application during study development.
For more information, see Roadmap: Working with automatic queries.
- Manual query—Issued by a reviewer on a patient, visit, form, or item. Queries can be issued during all types of reviews; for example, remote review, source verification review, and so on. There are two types of manual queries:
- Open query—Visible to all users and requires a response. For more information, see Roadmap: Working with manual queries.
- Candidate query—Preliminary query, issued by a sponsor user, which is visible only to other sponsor users. A sponsor user reviews the query and then reissues it as an open query or deletes it. For more information, see Roadmap: Working with candidate queries.
Note: The presence of queries does not prevent you from filling in the rest of a form, but a query prevents the form, visit, or patient from being marked Complete until all queries have been answered.
