Query statuses

When you issue a query for an item, the Open query status is applied to the item, the form in which the item resides, the visit containing the form, and the patient record. On the Patient Summary page, query status icons appear in the Status column, along with the visit and form statuses described in System-applied visit and form statuses and User-applied query, review, and status icons. The query statuses show you at a glance the patients, visits, forms, and items with queries that must be answered or that were approved or closed automatically. You can answer queries by creating a response on the Query Detail page.

On forms, query status icons for answered, closed, deleted, and approved queries appear next to the queried items. Click the query icon to open a corresponding Query Detail dialog box. For repeating sections, the query status icons appear in the Form Status column of the summary grid. Click View to display the form, and then click the query icon.

Query statuses

Status	Description	Available actions
	Open and automatic queries
Open	Visible to all users who have the right to view queries. Awaiting a response from a site user, typically an investigator or clinical research coordinator.	Respond to the query.
Answered	Received a response from a site user, typically an investigator or clinical research coordinator. If the query was manually created, or the user answered an automatic query without making a change to the data, a sponsor user, typically a clinical data manager or medical monitor, must approve the response before the OutcomeLogix application will close the query.	Approve the query. Reissue the query as an open query. Reissue the query as a candidate query.
Approved	Query response was approved by a sponsor user. or Data changes made in response to an automatic query satisfied validation checks.	None.
Closed	Query was closed manually by a sponsor user. This status is used to cancel queries that no longer need to be addressed by the site.	None.
	Candidate queries
Candidate	Visible only to sponsor users, typically clinical data managers and medical monitors. Available for review by a sponsor user with the appropriate rights.	Delete the query. Change the query to an open query.
Deleted	Visible only to sponsor users, typically clinical data managers and medical monitors. Reviewed and deleted by a sponsor user with the appropriate rights.	None.
