Understanding PDomain CMIOU Configurations

CMIOU stands for CPU, memory, and I/O unit. Each CMIOU provides the CPU (1 CMP), memory (16 DIMM slots) resources, and an I/O hub. Each PDomain can include zero to four CMIOUs.

There are several PDomain configurations, based on these factors:

  • Number of compute servers in SuperCluster M8 or SuperCluster M7

  • Number of PDomains in each compute server

  • Number of CMIOUs in each PDomain
