A condiment is an item that is external to a regular menu item. For example, ketchup, salt, and chocolate sprinkles are all condiments. Condiments can also give further details to the cook preparing the menu item, such as a well-done steak or salad with ranch dressing. In Simphony, condiments are often instructions or modifiers, such as the words extra, add, substitute, and without.
