The program description deals with the following:
The data for printer type Epson can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored for certain models can also be displayed for information. In addition to the POS printers integrated into the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program, it is also possible to store new printer model under a free record no.. Update of printer parameters is done in program "ESC/Pos printer description".
In addition, the interface and link to a processing unit should be defined and the device-specific operating mode of the printer set.
Note:
The ESC/Pos printer description also allows for
use of all Epson drivers currently implemented. The user must, however, have
detailed knowledge of the specifications (including control character
sequences) in the printer manual to allow this data to be set to the required
values.
The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

Only select a value higher than "0" for
the debug level if a protocol for communication of the printer is required for
error analysis.

Changes or new programming for printer parameters should be done in program "ESC/Pos printer description".

Default 2000
Enter a value in milliseconds to define the intervals at which the status of the printer is to be called up. An error message is sent if the response is negative.
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 -99999
Enter the port number in this field if the Ethernet interface is used.
Note:
The port number of the Ethernet interface can be entered in this field, which the driver for the UDP client socket in conjunction with the UB-E=x of Epson supported.
In case of the USB interface the port number can be entered to connect to the USB for auxiliary process. The port number will be given automatically from the operating system if the value in this field is zero.
Default 2000 milliseconds
Enter a value in milliseconds to define the intervals at which the printer must respond to a status call up. Printer offline is sent if the response is negative.
Default 500 milliseconds
This value specifies the maximum time of waiting for received data on subsequent bytes. Default value is 500 milliseconds. This is important for received of data from MICR reader and multiple-byte long status information. It is necessary to be able to increase the default value for certain printers.

Please note that the print density affects the
size of the printed logo. The higher the solution, the smaller the logo.

Path and name of BMP file for logo print
A logo can be printed on a receipt instead of the normal receipt heading lines. If logo print is required, the name of the BMP file and the path in relation to the current work directory should be entered in this field (e.g. work directory = work.10, BMP file in directory xpm; entry = ../xpm/BMP file name)
Please note the following in conjunction with BMP files:
A BMP file is created with the appropriate program (e.g. "PAINT" for Windows). A colour depth of 1 bit (=2 colours) should be selected.
The size and ratio of the X/Y solution in Pixel is dependent on the printer on which the logo is to be printed.
The following values apply:
Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 9
Enter a value in this field (drawer no.) if drawer 1 is connected to this printer and the drawer is to open as per the definition for operator and payment type. The value entered here must match the entry in Operator and in the appropriate Parameter of the payment type.
Note:
A time can be entered in seconds in program
Terminaltype in field Drawer timer to define how long the
drawer can remain open without a warning being sent by the system.
Attention!
The value "9" must be entered in this field to support the
"Danish beeper".
Default= 100 milliseconds
A value is entered in milliseconds in this field to define the time the release magnet of the connected drawer is to remain active.
