The program description deals with the following:

Remarks on program function

The data for an OPOS keyboard can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed for information.

Enter the no. of the device under which it is to be stored in the system. The interface and link to a processing unit should be defined and the device-specific operating mode set.

Note:
99 = zero should be selected as device interface for all OPOS devices.

The OPOS module must have been installed and configured if OPOS devices are to be operated.

Remarks on data fields

The following description deals with all available options for update of this basic data.

As with nearly all other programs the following also applies here:


Service name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 30 chars.

Note
The entry in this field is optional and only necessary if no entry has been made in field Device name.

Example:
The OPOS modules are entered as follows in the registration database:

·        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OLEforRetail\ ServiceOPOS\Gerätegruppe\Gerätename\

The service names are listed in program regedit:

The device names can be found in the left-hand directory in the device group for the device concerned, e.g. "ADSTopCAshCentralLock".

The linked service names can be found in the right-hand directory under code "Standard" = "ADSTopCash.CentralLock.1".

Device name

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 30 chars.

Enter the device name of this OPOS device.

Exmple

The OPOS modules are entered as follows in the registration database:

·        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OLEforRetail\ ServiceOPOS\Gerätegruppe\Gerätename

The device names are listed in program regedit.

The linked device names can be found in the left-hand directory under the device group concerned.

Debug

Entry range permitted: numeric 0 - 255

Select one of the offered debug levels by clicking onto this field and with a second click confirming the selection.

The system offers the following debug levels:

Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol of the communications is required for error analysis. The details are shown in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system unit.


Keyboard no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

The number under which this keyboard is to be/has been stored in the system is entered here.

Enter a free no. in the key fields for programming of a new keyboard.

If changes or clear operations are necessary, the data record should be called up by entering a number in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.


Keyboard type OPOS

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the OPOS keyboard table which contains the key codes.

Enter a free no. in the key fields for programming of a new type.

If changes or clear operations are necessary, the data record should be called up by entering a number in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.

Note:
One example of the keyboard type "TOPline" is delivered as "*.asc file" with the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS standard version If this keyboard is to be used, this data should be read into the database with "oscar init DvDbOposKeyb" and "oscar init DvDbOposKeabKey".


Multi Threaded

Switch active: Multithreaded is set.
Switch deactivated: Multithreaded is switched off

This option is dependent on the connected device and should be activated or deactivated accordingly.
