Remarks on program function

The data for Scales can be updated, i.e. programmed, changed or cleared, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed for information.

The interface and link to a processing unit should be defined for the scales and the device-specific operating mode set.

The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program supports connection of single scales and a scales ring.

Installation

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the installation to which this device is to be/has been linked. The name of the installation is then shown on the right. No device can be programmed without this link.

Enter a free no. in the key fields if a new device is to be programmed.

Changes or clear operations are done by calling up the data record from entry of the numbers in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.


Process unit

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the processing unit to which this device is to be/has been linked. The name of the installation is then shown on the right. No device can be programmed without this link.

Enter a free no. in the key fields if a new device is to be programmed.

Changes or clear operations are done by calling up the data record from entry of the numbers in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with the search function.


Device no.

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999

Enter any device ID. Please ensure that different number ranges are assigned for certain devices (e.g. 10 to 20 for printers, 30 to 40 for operator modules, etc.). This allows you to keep track of data.

Enter a free no. in the key fields if a new device is to be programmed.

Changes or clear operations are done by calling up the data record from entry of the numbers in the key fields. If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.


Descriptor

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 20 pos.

Enter the required name of the device in this field. Please ensure that an easily identifiable name is assigned (e.g. "Scales Unit 6 ComC", etc.).


Device interface

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 99

Enter the Interface no. to which this device is to be/has been connected. Please ensure that this interface on this system unit has not already been assigned to another device.

If the number is not known, the data record can be selected with Search.


Serial no.

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric max. 32 pos.

Enter the serial no. of this device.


Dialog type

Select one of the offered dialog types by clicking on this field and with a second click confirming the selection.

Price is 6-figure long

Field with firmly defined selection options

You may select whether the price transmitted to the scale always is 6-figure in length or whether this is only the case if this becomes necessary by a higher price.

Click into the selection field and select the desired option from the menu.

In the case of the dialogue type = 06 the driver may be adjusted to meet the english reports specifications for Bizerba through adjusting the environment variable FLINTABWORKAROUND = 2, otherwise it will meet the german Bizerba specifications.

Note: Whether or not it is necessary to adjust the settings to transmit a 6-figure long price will be further stated in your scale’s documentation.

Debug

Select one of the offered debug levels by clicking on this field and with a second click confirming the selection.

Only select a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a communication protocol is required for error analysis. The details are shown in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system unit.


Request timeout

Entry range permitted: numeric min. 1000

Enter a value in milliseconds to define the intervals at which the scales have to answer after a status query. Scales offline appears if the response is negative.


Waiting time

Entry range permitted: numeric 1 - 9999 (default = 60)

Enter a value in seconds to define the period during which the weighing operation should have been completed.
