Remarks on program function

The data for connection of a payment terminal, type Thales via MCS can be updated, i.e. created, changed or deleted, with this program. Data which has already been stored can also be displayed.

MCS.soft is a software solution for handling electronic payments for systems based on a PIN. The PINPad is connected up to the terminal and is controlled by MCS.soft.

The interface and link to a processing unit must be defined and the device-specific operating mode of the EFT terminal set.

Note:
Payment terminal devices are required for payments with magnetic cards. Further parametering is necessary to ensure that this device can be operated. The entries are made in the appropriate Payment type mit der Zuordnung der zulässigen Credit card etc.

All options available for update of the basic data have been described below.

As with nearly all programs the following also applies here:


Debug

Entry range permitted: numeric, 0 –255

Enter a value in this field to ensure that system and error messages are recorded.

Note:
Only select a value higher than "0" for the debug level if a protocol for the communication of the payment terminal is required for error analysis. The information is provided in file "errlog" in directory work of the appropriate system unit.


Usage

Entry range permitted: numeric, 0 - 1

Enter a number in this field to identify the terminal. The value entered here must match the entry in the appropriate payment type, i.e. the system selects the payment terminal no. programmed in Payment type.

Default = 1


Terminal no.

Entry range permitted: alphanumeric, max. 8 chars.

Enter the number to identify the PINPad terminal.


Decimal digits

Entry range permitted: numeric, 0 – 9 (default = 2)

Enter a value for the number of decimal places required.


Chars per line on display

Entry range permitted: numeric, 0 – 99 (default = 32)

Enter a value in this field to define the number of characters per line to be printed.


Char/line on display

Entry range permitted: numeric, 16 – 999 (default = 25)

Enter a value in this field to define the number of characters per line to be displayed.


No. of lines on display

Entry range permitted: numeric, 16 – 999 (default = 5)

Enter a value here to define the number of lines which are to be shown on the display.
