Remarks on the Program Function

By use of this program, you can maintain the data for a LAN connection (Local Area Network), i.e. create new records, modify or delete existing data. You can also view already stored data for information purposes.

Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these basic data

Just like in almost any other program:

• The input mask may be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the application. In some cases some data fields may be missing.
• Some input fields may contain default values or defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
• The input mask contains some fields that require an entry and others in which entries are optional.
• If the data record is updated via multi-page input masks, go to the dialog window by clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
• The same procedure applies to call up another update program from this program.
• In some cases you may find that so-called "Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.

Installation

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the installation to which this LAN connection is (to be) assigned. The name of the installation will then be displayed on the right. Without this assignment, no LAN connection can be established.

When creating a new record, enter a new unique number in the Primary Key Fields.

For modifications or deletions, open the data record by entering the number in the primary key fields. If you do not know the number, you can also select the data record via the Search Function.

LAN

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the LAN (Local Area Network) to which this connection is (to be) assigned. The name of the LAN will then be displayed on the right. Without this assignment, no LAN connection can be established.

When creating a new record, enter a new unique number in the Primary Key Fields.

Enter the number of the LAN connection.

Descriptor

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max.8 chars.

Enter the name of this LAN connection (Local Area Network).

Location

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max.32 chars.

When creating a new record, you have to enter the location of the LAN connection. Use an informative name such as Central X-town, Branch Y-town etc. to keep the overview of all LAN connections of the related installation.

Model

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max.32 chars.

Enter the model number of the LAN connection.

Serial Number

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max.32 chars.

Enter the serial number of this LAN connection.

Installation Date

Permitted input range: DDMMYYY (day,month, year)

Enter the date of the installation of this LAN connection.

Connector Type

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Enter the number of the connector type.
