Macro Actions
The
following program description deals with:
By
use of this program, you can maintain the data for the macro actions, i.e.
create new data records, modify or delete existing data. You can also view
already stored data for information purposes.
For
macros you have created by use of the update program Macros,
you can define the actual actions to be carried out with the execution of a
macro.
Remarks on the Input Fields
This
paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating
these basic data
Just
like in almost any other program:
- The input mask may
be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the
application. In some cases some data fields may
be missing.
- Some input fields may contain default values or
defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
- The input mask contains some fields that require
an entry and others in which entries are optional.
- If the data record is updated via multi-page
input masks, go to the dialog window by
clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure applies to call up another
update program from this program.
- In some cases you may find that so-called
"Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated
or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified
by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.

Field with firmly defined selection options
Select
one of the action types provided to define which action is to be carried out
with the execution of the macro. Click on the field and select the action type
of your choice by use of another mouse click.
The
system offers the following action types for selection:
- None
There will be no action.
- Click
With this action, a click on a button
or a menu command for opening a report is carried out. For this action
type, you have to enter the button or menu command in the field Destination Field.
- Set Position
With this action, the cursor is moved
into a particular field of the input mask. For this action type, you have
to enter the input field or option field in the field Destination Field.
- Set Value
With this action, a particular value is entered in a particular input
field in the input mask. For this action type, you have to define the
input field in the field Destination
Field and enter the value in the field Value.
- Copy Value
With this action, a particular value is
copied from a source field to a destination field. For this action type,
you have to define the appropriate field names in the fields Source Field and Destination Field.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.
Enter
the internal name of the source field of which the value is to be copied to the
destination field. If you do not know the name, you can select the data record
via the Search Function.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.
Enter
the internal name of the destination field to which the value of the source
field is to be copied. If you do not know the name, you can select the data
record via the Search Function.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 32 chars.
Enter
the value to be set in the corresponding field with this macro action. The
input in this field is only possible if this macro action is of the action type
"Set Value".
