Printer Table
The
following program description deals with:
By
use of this program you can maintain the basic data of the printer tables in
the system, i.e. add new records, change or delete the existing ones. The
stored data can be displayed on the screen for enquiry only.
The
MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application enables you to
- install multiple printers in the system. Besides
physically connected to a terminal, a printer has also to be logically
defined in the system to function accordingly.
- print items on the printer which is connected to
the sales terminal, where the items are also posted.
These
functions are achieved by using four programs/subprograms in the system.
- In the first step, on the terminal level, at
least one printer table has to be created. Each printer table has to have a
unique table number. With this number, the table is assigned to a
terminal.
- In a second step, the printer types are set up.
Each printer type has also a unique printer type number. This type number
is used internally in the system as an index. Additionally, a designation,
i.e. the name of the printer, is given to the printer type
- Each printer type is physically described
(connection to a system unit, interface, etc.).
- In the application program Item, the
items are assigned to the printer types (the index).
With
the program Printer Table, tables
are defined. Defining a table involves the following:
- assigning the table to a company
- assigning the table to to a branch,
- assigning a number to the table,
- and assigning a name to the table.
This
paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating
these Basic Data.

like in almost any other program:

be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the
application. In some cases some Data Fields may be missing.

defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
- The input mask contains some fields that require
an entry and others in which entries are optional.
- If the data record is updated via multi-page
input masks, go to the Dialog Window by clicking
on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
- The same procedure applies to call up another
update program from this program.
