By use of this program, you can maintain the data of the report parameters for the web reports, i.e. create new data records, modify or delete existing data. You can also view already stored data for information purposes.
Note:
These report parameters are exclusively
needed for web reports to call standard reports of the MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program and Crystal Reports via the internet. By
defining these parameters, you can preset the selection criteria for each
report with values, or permit/ prohibit entries in web forms.
In the update program System -> User Interface -> Applications -> Chaining Report, an application program with the name "WebChain" of the type Chaining Report has to be established with a free number.

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.
Just like in almost any other program:
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.
Enter the internal program name of the report for which you would like to maintain the parameters.
If you do not know the internal program name of the report, you can search for the desired report by use of the arrow symbol on the button next to the field.
In this case, enter the report name as the match code, as it is displayed in the related update program in the menu Report.
Example:
You would like to maintain the
parameters for the report "Department
Turnover / Branch".
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999
Click on the button "Create Sample Data" to have the parameter data and its position numbers created automatically by the system.
Enter a position number if you would like to make a manual parameter entry.
Attention:
The parameter data should only be
entered manually if you know the exact spelling of the parameter name and its
value range. In general, use the button "Create
Sample Data" to generate a list of the parameter names. Then
enter only the values of your choice for each parameter.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 20 chars.
Click on the button "Create Sample Data" to have the parameter data and its position numbers created automatically by the system.
Only enter manual values in this field if you know the exact spelling of the parameters.
Note:
For every web report, the parameter
record contains the entries "title"
and "filename".
Additional parameters are e.g. FromBranchNo (=From Branch); ToBranchNo (= To
Branch) etc.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 32 chars.
Click on the button "Create Sample Data" to have the parameter data and its display texts with the position numbers created automatically by the program.
The name in this field will later be displayed in the web form for the selection criteria.
Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max. 30 chars.
Enter the value for the parameter. This value is displayed as the default value in the web form. If you do not want changes in the web form, you have to activate the option "No Prompt".
Attention!
If you have created the parameter data
for a web report automatically by clicking on the button "Create Sample Data", all defaults are
preset with minimum values and definitely have to be maintained.
Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 99
Enter the maximum input length for this parameter in the web form.
Do not make an entry if you would like to accept the default value.
Activated: The
default value for this parameter is not displayed in the web form.
Deactivated: This parameter is
displayed in the web form and can be modified by the operator.
