Remarks on the Program Function

By use of this program you can maintain the basic data in the system, i.e. insert new records, edit and delete the existing ones. You can also display the data on the screen for enquiry only.

This program is called up from window Price change type and allows you to create percent price changes for totalizers. The percent value of a price change is thus not updated via this window. Up to 20 entries for graduated discounts are possible per totalizer. The percent changes are linked to minimum purchase quantities.

Note:

If the rates are used for a markup or a markdown, depends on the category set in the Price Change Type program. Normally they are discount rates.
The price changes are only effective if the appropriate totalizer is also assigned to items and departments (see Item Maintenance and Department Maintenance).

Remarks on the Input Fields

This paragraph will provide a short overview over the options available for updating these Basic Data.

Just like in almost any other program:

The Input Mask may be different in your MICROS Retail OSCAR POS program depending on the set-up of the application. In some cases some Data Fields may be missing.
Some input fields may contain default values or defined selection options; these cannot be updated.
The input mask contains some fields that require an entry and others in which entries are optional.
If the data record is updated via multi-page input masks, go to the Dialog Window by clicking on the appropriate buttons with <Mouse key 1>.
The same procedure applies to call up another update program from this program.
In some cases you may find that so-called "Switches" which - depending on the default - can be activated or deactivated with <Mouse key 1>. Activated switches are identified by their dark color, deactivated switches are lighter-colored.

Company

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

Number of the company for which the discount percentages of the price change type is to be defined.

Markup/Markdown no.

Permitted input range: numeric, 1 - 9999

This is the number of the price change type assigned in the system. This field cannot be edited. This number is passed from the program where the Price Change % program has been initiated.

Totalizer

Permitted input range: numeric, 0 - 99

Enter the number of the totalizer for which the price change entries are required.

Totalizers allow the calculation of variable price changes. A totalizer no. only needs to be entered if the item is not to be linked to the normally valid totalizer.

If the price changes are to be included in various totalizers, do not make any entries here. Instead activate buttons Totalizer dep. and Price change %.

It is important that buttons Totalizer dep. and Percent change % are set in program Price change type and that no number has been entered under Totalizer.

Designation

Permitted input range: alphanumeric, max 20 characters

This is the name of the price change type. The description is arbitrary, but should be eloquent.

Minimum Value [1 to 20]

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 10 digits including max. 2 decimal places

For sales amount exceeding the amount entered here, the discount rate entered in the field Percentage Value <n> will be given.

The MICROS Retail OSCAR POS application allows up to 20 different entries.

Percentage Value [1 to 20]

Permitted input range: decimal, max. 5 digits including max. 2 decimal places

The percentage value entered here will be granted to sales amount exceeding the amount entered in the field Minimum Value [1 to 20].
