Chapter 47: Assigning Warehouse List by SCF Range (MWHL)
Purpose: Use the Assign Warehouse List by SCF Range menu option to assign a warehouse list to a range of SCF codes, rather than assigning a warehouse list to each SCF individually. You can assign the warehouse list to the range of SCF codes at the SCF level and/or the SCF/item class level.
An SCF code (Sectional Center Facility) represents the first 3 digits of the destination postal code.
Warehouse lists are used to more efficiently allocate an order to the warehouse closest to the shipping destination. Each list contains the warehouses the system will use to fulfill an order, and the sequence in which the warehouse will be considered. A warehouse list is usually created for each region to which you ship.
The system uses the following hierarchy to determine which warehouse list to use:
• Item/SCF: The system uses the warehouse list defined at the item/SCF level first.
• Item class/SCF: If a warehouse list has not been defined at the item/SCF level, the system uses the warehouse list at the item class/SCF level.
• SCF: If a warehouse list has not been defined at the item class/SCF level, the system uses the warehouse list at the SCF level.
You can also use the Working with SCF Codes (WSCF) menu option to assign a warehouse list to an SCF at the SCF level, SCF/item class level, or SCF/item level.
Assign Warehouse List by SCF Range Screen
Use this screen to assign a warehouse list to a range of SCF codes at the SCF level and/or SCF/item class level.
Item classes display on this screen in item class code sequence.
To assign a warehouse list at the SCF level: Enter the following information on the Assign Warehouse List by SCF Range Screen.
1. Enter a valid country code in the Country field.
2. Enter a valid SCF code range in the SCF code range field.
3. Enter the code for the warehouse list you wish to assign to the range of SCFs at the SCF level in the SCF warehouse list field.
4. Press F9.
The system updates the Warehouse list field for each SCF in the SCF code range that exists in the SCF file. If an SCF code in the SCF code range does not exist in the SCF file, the system does not create it.
Example: You enter the following information on the Assign Warehouse List by SCF Range Screen:
• Country: USA
• SCF code range: 010 to 013.
• SCF warehouse list: 7
The following SCF codes exist in the SCF file:

SCF whs list after update |

Note: Because SCF code 012 does not exist in the SCF file, the system does not create it.
To assign a warehouse list at the SCF/item class level: Enter the following information on the Assign Warehouse List by SCF Range Screen.
1. Enter a valid country code in the Country field.
2. Enter a valid SCF code range in the SCF code range field.
3. Enter the code for the warehouse list you wish to assign to the range of SCFs at the SCF/item class level in the Item class warehouse list field.
4. To assign the warehouse list to an item class, enter 1 next to the item class. If you wish to assign the warehouse list to all item classes, press F7 to update the Select field for all item classes to Y.
5. To remove the warehouse list from an item class, enter 7 next to the item class. If you wish to remove the warehouse list from all item classes, press F7 to update the Select field for all item classes to N.
6. Press F9.
The system updates the Warehouse list field for each SCF/item class in the SCF code range that exists in the Whse List Item/Item Class file. If an SCF code in the SCF code range does not exist in the SCF file, the system does not create it. If an SCF/item class does not exist in the Whse List Item/Item Class file, the system creates it.
You enter the following information on the Assign Warehouse List by SCF Range Screen:
• Country: USA
• SCF code range: 010 to 013.
• Item class warehouse list: 7
• Selected item classes: H01, J01.
The following SCF codes exist in the SCF file:

Note: Because SCF 012 does not exist in the SCF file, the system does not create it. The system also creates a record in the Whse List Item/Item Class file for SCF 013/item class H01 because it did not already exist.
How to display this screen: Enter MWHL in the Fast path field or select Assign Warehouse List by SCF Range from a menu.
