L2ARC issues beyond the standard statistics.

memory abort
|
The L2ARC choose not to populate for a one second interval due to
a shortage of system memory (DRAM) which holds the L2ARC metadata.
Continual memory aborts will prevent the L2ARC from warming
up.

bad checksum
|
A read from a cache device failed the ZFS ARC checksum. This may
be an indicator that a cache device is beginning to fail.

io error
|
A cache device returned an error. This may be an indicator that a
cache device is beginning to fail.
