In Single App mode, the iPad is locked to only access a single app. This is a more advanced feature intended for organizations. To configure Single App mode, you will need to use the Apple Configurator and it can only be disabled with the same tool. To enable Single App mode, you will first put the iPad into Supervised Mode.

Single App mode can also be remotely enabled using a mobile device management (MDM) server if your organization uses one to manage your tablets.
