To do this without a mobile device management server, download and install Apple Configurator from Apple to place your iPad into Supervised Mode and then enable Single App Mode. For more information about Apple Configurator, see https://support.apple.com/apple-configurator.
Supervise a Device with Apple Configurator
Follow these steps to put the iPad in Supervised Mode.
Attach your iOS device to the computer using the USB cable.
Start Apple Configurator.
In the All devices view, click the iOS device.
Click Prepare.
Select Manual from the Configuration drop down menu and click next.
Optional. On the Enroll in MDM Server screen, you can define an MDM server using your SimpleMDM enrollment URL.
On the Supervise Devices screen, click the checkbox next to Supervise devices.
On the Create an Organization screen, add the details of your company. The information you enter here appears on the devices under Settings > General > About. This information cannot be changed later.
Generate a supervision identity if you have not done so already. If you click Generate a new supervision identity, you will walk through the steps to create an identity using a Setup Assistant. Otherwise, choose an existing identity. Click the Prepare button once you reach the end of the dialog boxes. The device will be prepared and reset.
Enable Single App Mode
Follow these steps to put the iPad in Single App Mode.
With your iPad in Supervised Mode and connected to your Mac with a USB cable, open the Apple Configurator and select the connected device.
Click the Actions menu, point to Advanced, and select Start Single App Mode.
A list of all the apps installed on the iPad displays. Select the Oracle Assisted Selling app.
Click the Options button. By default, features like the touch screen, volume buttons, sleep/wake button, and auto-lock are all functional. You will need to adjust these to match your enterprise device policy.
Click the Select App button when you are complete, and the iPad will be locked to the Oracle Assisted Selling app. Your sales associates will not be able to triple-click the Home button and attempt to guess your PIN. When the iPad boots up, it will go right back to the Oracle Assisted Selling app.
To disable Single App Mode, connect the iPad and open Apple Configurator, and click the Actions > Advanced > Stop Single App Mode option.
