It is recommended to install Desktop Integration Siebel Agent on each agent computer that will be used for hoteling.

The MultiActiveCmdIcon communications command is now obsolete.

Docking options for the communications panel have changed.

Preference Settings for Communications

Modified topic. Updated the description of the Bring Siebel to Front user preference, which is now integrated with the Web notifications feature that is supported by many browsers.

Multiple topics

Modified topics. References to high interactivity have been removed. As of Siebel Innovation Pack 2016, Siebel Business Applications use Siebel Open UI exclusively.

Due to the evolution of browsers away from supporting Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface (NPAPI), as of Siebel Innovation Pack 2016, Java is no longer used to support hoteling, the communications toolbar, or other functions in Siebel Business Applications.

As of Siebel Innovation Pack 2016, certain directories have been moved, consolidated, or eliminated in the Siebel Server and Siebel Application Interface installations. For example, the webmaster directory is no longer part of the Siebel Server installation. The files and subdirectories previously installed in this location are installed only in the public directory in the Siebel application interface installation.

Several folders in the public directory in Siebel Web Sever Extension (SWSE), Siebel Web Client, and Siebel Tools installations have been reorganized.

NOTE:  In Siebel Innovation Pack 2017, SWSE has been replaced by Siebel Application Interface, and the contents of the web directory have moved. For more information, see the Siebel Installation Guide for the operating system you are using.

"Using the Virtual CTI Driver" (removed)

Other topics (modified)

Removed chapter and modified topics. The Virtual CTI Driver (for Oracle Contact On Demand) is no longer supported.
