Setting up the initial import of data in Oracle Unity

After creating an Export Activity in Oracle CX Sales and uploading the zip file to a Secure FTP site, you will need to import the data in the zip file with an ingest job in Oracle Unity.

Learn more about correctly formatting source files and ingest jobs so that you can successfully import data:

  • Ensure source files are formatted correctly by reviewing CSV file standards for Oracle Unity and supported CSV parsers.

  • Review how to import empty or null data and the restrictions on empty/null data in the Oracle Unity data model.

Create Secure FTP source

Follow the steps for creating a Secure FTP source in Oracle Unity. You will configure Oracle Unity to access the Secure FTP site you uploaded the zip files to.

Create and run the ingest job

To create and run the ingest job:

  1. Follow the steps for creating an ingest job in Oracle Unity.

    • Select the source you created for the Secure FTP site that has the uploaded zip files.
    • Create a sample file of the zip files with the required fields.
    • Set up field mapping between CX Sales fields and Oracle Unity fields.
  2. After saving the ingest job, follow the steps for Publishing changes.
  3. Visit the Data feeds page and start the ingest job. Monitor the progress of the job from the Jobs dashboard.
  4. After the ingest job successfully completes, visit the Data feeds page and start the following system jobs:
    • System - Data warehouse job
    • System - Identity resolution pipeline job

Monitor the progress of the jobs from the Jobs dashboard.

After the two system jobs successfully complete, you can follow the steps for Setting up the ongoing import of Oracle CX Sales data
