Setting up the export of data to Oracle Eloqua

You have the option of exporting Oracle Unity segments to Oracle Eloqua in two different ways.

Before you begin

Please review the following before starting the process of exporting Oracle Unity segments to Eloqua.

User role permissions

Make sure the user setting up the integration in both Oracle Unity and Eloqua has the proper user roles.

The user in Oracle Eloqua that is setting up the integration needs to do the following:

The user in Oracle Unity that is setting up the integration can have any User role.

  • To give the minimum permissions to this user, you can assign the role of Analytics user.
  • If the user needs to create the segments and campaigns in Oracle Unity that will be used to export to Oracle Eloqua, the user will need the additional user role of Business user.

Eloqua multi-step campaigns, segments and custom objects

Oracle Unity segments can be used for Eloqua campaigns or can be exported into Eloqua custom objects or segments.

Eloqua multi-step campaigns

Eloqua Multi-step campaigns allow you to create a highly customized marketing campaigns that can intrigue contacts and adapt based on a contact's real-time activities.

Eloqua segments

You have the option of exporting data from an Oracle Unity segment through a campaign into an Eloqua segment.

Eloqua custom objects

An Eloqua custom object is a set of custom records that supplement standard contact and account records. Custom objects allow you to store additional data in a scalable manner and link that data to a contact or account record.

You can build a custom object with any combination of standard and custom fields, populate those fields to create custom object records, and then link those records to a contact or an account. Powerful and flexible, linked records enrich your segments, campaigns, and programs by letting you build those assets with information not found in contact fields and account fields.
