User roles

User roles define what areas of Oracle Unity the user can access and the functionality they have in the application.

If needed, a user can be assigned more than one role. If a user is assigned multiple roles, they will have the combined access and functionality of all assigned roles.

The following describes what access and functionality each user role has.

Data master

The Data master role has the following permissions.

This role can Publish changes.

Data model

• Create and manage data objects
• Create and manage attributes
• Create and manage attribute groups
• Create relationships
• Enable attribute lookups
• Hide and show data objects and attributes and also view hidden items
• Mask attributes

Data viewer

• View and save data object records
• Manage data object records

Sources

• Create and manage sources

Destinations

• Create and manage destinations

Data feeds

• Create and manage ingest jobs
• Create and manage export jobs
• Run and manage system jobs

Jobs

• Manage and monitor the Jobs dashboard

Events

• Create and manage events

Master entities

• View and Edit deduplication rules
• View and Edit promotion rules

Intelligent attributes

• View and Manage intelligent attributes

Profile explorer

• Work with the Profile explorer

Expert configurations

• Access to the light version of the Expert configuration page (fewer number of permissions than the standard Expert configuration page)

• View and manage the Streaming API and Near real-time API

Data engineer

The Data engineer role has the following permissions.

The Data engineer can review changes that will be published by clicking View change list, but can't publish these changes.
