Managing promotion rules

You can manage promotion rules for Master entities as needed. You can also edit promotion rules with a JSON-based editor.

Managing promotion rules

To manage promotion rules:

  1. Click the Oracle icon Image of the application navigation button. Use it to access the different parts of Oracle Unity. in the bottom-right corner to open the navigation menu.
  2. Select Master entities.
  3. Under Master entities, click the master entity you want to view.

  4. Click the Promotion tab.

  5. For the promotion rule you want to copy or delete, click the Action menu (An image of the action menu button. Use it to edit custom data objects.).

  6. Select a management option:
  • Edit: Update the rule using a JSON-based editor. You will need to click Edit again in the promotion rule details page.
  • Copy: Create a copy of the promotion rule.
  • Make inactive/Make active: Change the status of the promotion rule. To delete promotion rules, you will need to first make them inactive.
  • Delete: Remove the promotion rule. This action is not reversible and deleted promotion rules cannot be recovered. You can only delete promotion rules that have a status of Inactive.

Editing promotion rules

Important: To complete these steps, you will need a working knowledge and JSON.

To edit an individual promotion rule:

  1. Click the Oracle icon Image of the application navigation button. Use it to access the different parts of Oracle Unity. in the bottom-right corner to open the navigation menu.
  2. Select Master entities.
  3. Under Master entities, click the master entity you want to view.

  4. Click the Promotion tab.

  5. Under Rule name, click to select the promotion rule you want to view. The page for the promotion rule will display.

  6. In the top-right corner, click Edit.

  7. In the Query editor window, make changes as needed to the promotion rule.
    • If there are errors in the rule, they will be highlighted for easy identification so you can make the necessary changes.
    • You can use copy and paste in the editor window.
  8. Click Save.
