Review subscription invoices and future payments
Open a subscription and use its Invoices and Future payments tabs to compare charges already billed with the amounts expected in later billing periods. The values reflect the subscription’s billing mode, schedule, lines, quantity, rate, usage, and changes; cancellation removes future charges and can finalize accumulated in-arrears usage on an invoice.
Billing tabs
Use the following tabs on the subscription:
- Items: Shows subscription lines, quantities, rates, total amounts, and line types.
- Invoices: Shows the invoice display ID, status, date, total, and memo. For an in-advance subscription, the current-period invoice is created when the subscription is submitted. For an in-arrears subscription, an invoice is created after the billing period or when accumulated unbilled charges are finalized by cancellation.
- Future payments: Shows the upcoming bill date, billing period, and expected amount. Adding usage or editing an unbilled subscription updates the applicable expected amount.
- Usage: Shows usage entries for usage-based subscriptions.
Cancellation behavior
After a subscription is canceled, Future payments is empty because future charges are deleted. If an in-arrears subscription had accumulated unbilled usage, the resulting open invoice appears on the Invoices tab.
