Stock Ledger Report Narrative Insights

With the Narrative Insights feature, you can use generative AI to highlight trends in your Stock Ledger Report. This feature summarizes critical information, including total input and output quantities, ending inventory value, items with negative inventory, and items present in multiple locations. This insight is especially useful for Warehouse Managers, Supply Chain Managers, and Accountants looking to optimize inventory strategy and spot potential risks.

The summary is generated using AI and reflects only the filtered data shown in your current report. Exact figures, document numbers, dates, and categories are preserved, with no rounding, averaging, or inferred calculations.

This feature provides the following key benefits:

This feature is available only to standard roles. To use this feature, your assigned role must have Reports > Inventory permission. Typical roles include Accountant, Warehouse Manager, and others.

The Enable Narrative Insights preference on the AI Preferences page controls whether you can generate insights. This preference is enabled by default. Users with an Administrator role can disable this preference at any time. For more information about Narrative Insights preferences, see Managing Narrative Insights Preferences.

To generate an insight from the Stock Ledger Report:

  1. Go to Reports > Inventory/Items > Stock Ledger Report (Administrator).

  2. Apply the necessary filters, such as subsidiary, date range, or location.

  3. Click the Generate Insight button.

    The Narrative Insights dialog displays the AI-generated narrative insight for your current results.
