Perform Periodic Updates of Substitution Variable Values

At the end of each financial period and at the end of the year, you must update certain substitution variables in NetSuite Planning and Budgeting. After closing the period in NetSuite and after refreshing and validating the NetSuite data and metadata, update the substitution variables to the new budget period.

To set the value of a substitution variable, click the Navigator icon , and then select Variables. On the Variables page, click the Substitution Variables tab, and then enter the new value for a variable in the Value column.

Ensure that you update the substitution variables listed subsequently periodically according to the list that the variables are categorized under.

Update the following variables monthly:

• NSP_PER_ActCurrMo

• NSP_PER_BudCurrMo

• NSP_PER_RptCurrMo

• NSP_PER_RptPriorMo

• NSP_PER_RptPriorMo

• NSP_PER_SyncEndYear

• NSP_PER_SyncStartMonth

• NSP_PER_SyncStartYr

Update the following substitution variables annually:

• NSP_PER_ActCurrYr

• NSP_PER_BudCurrYr

• NSP_PER_BudNextYr

• NSP_PER_PriorYr

• NSP_PER_PriorYr1

• NSP_PER_RptCurrYr

• NSP_PER_RptPriorYr
