Setting Up Values for Substitution and User Variables
If you have the Administrator role, you can review and edit the values for substitution variables and user variables in NetSuite Planning and Budgeting.
As a part of implementation, you must give values to all substitution variables before loading metadata and data. This is because the business rules that run during the metadata and data load need those values. User variables should also be set during implementation to use data forms and review reports and dashboards.
Additionally, at the end of each financial period and at the end of the year, you need to update certain substitution variables.
