Scenario Planning with Grid Spread

The Grid Spread feature enables you to make a new total entry or adjustments to an existing total entry for a row in a form. The new or adjusted value spreads back to populate the row's open periods with new or adjusted values.

You can spread the value back in the following ways:

Tip:

If you wanted to exclude a period from the adjustment, before using Grid Spread, right-click the period that you want to exclude and select Lock/Unlock Cells. The cell is locked. After applying the adjustment, you can unlock the cell by performing the same action.

To adjust a total for a row by using Grid Spread:

  1. Go to the form that you want to make entries for.

  2. Click the Account that you want to adjust to highlight the row.

  3. In the Total column, right-click the cell (data area) and select Adjust > Grid Spread. You may need to use the horizontal scroll bar to see the Total column.

  4. In the Grid Spread popup window, in the Adjust By field, enter a value, and select either the Value icon Value icon or the Percentage icon Percentage icon.

  5. Select one of the spread options based on how you want the new total value to spread back to the open periods.

  6. Click Apply.

  7. Click Save.
