Get File MCP App

Tool Name

ns_getFileApp

Tool Description

Lets you send supported file contents from the NetSuite File Cabinet to the conversation.

First, ask your AI client to open the Get File MCP App with the file's complete File Cabinet path. To browse folders or find a file, use the File Cabinet Browser MCP App.

The app then checks whether the file exists and displays its name and path without reading its contents. Review the details, then click Send to Conversation. Sending file contents to the conversation doesn't save the file to your device.

To open the saved file in your browser without sending its contents to the conversation, click the Open in Browser button. Access depends on the file's NetSuite access settings and your browser's NetSuite session.

To send file contents to the conversation, the file must be 10 MB (10,485,760 bytes) or smaller. Available contents and previews depend on the file format and your AI client's support.
