Tool Name	ns_attachFile
Tool Description	Attaches an existing File Cabinet file to a NetSuite record without reading the file's contents. The file must already exist in the File Cabinet. If you need to upload it first, use the File Cabinet Browser MCP App or Upload File MCP App.

Properties

The following table lists the tool's properties.

Property	Type	Required or Optional	Description
path	string	Required	The file's complete File Cabinet path, including its folder and file name, for example /Images/myImageFile.jpg. The leading slash is optional. Specify a File Cabinet path, not a web address or internal ID.
recordType	string	Required	The NetSuite record type, such as customer, salesorder, or a custom record type's script ID.
recordId	string	Required	The record's internal ID as a string.

Permissions

Your ability to attach a file depends on your NetSuite role's file, folder, and record permissions. Attaching a file doesn't grant access to a restricted folder.
