SuiteAnalytics Workbook Overview

SuiteAnalytics Workbook is an analytics tool in NetSuite. With it, you can create custom workbooks that combine datasets, tables, pivot tables, and charts all in one place using the new analytics data source. The analytics data source ensures that fields show up the same way and give consistent results across all workbook visualizations. Workbook now supports multilevel joins, so you can use data from multiple record types, including custom records, when creating workbooks and datasets. Custom formula fields are also supported, letting you add fields with dynamic values to your workbooks. And you can link datasets in Workbook, so you can compare metrics from different datasets in a single workbook visualization.

The SuiteAnalytics Workbook user interface is designed so even users without much record schema or query language knowledge can create complex workbooks and datasets with simple actions like drag-and-drop. When you create a workbook or visualization, you can base it on any dataset you have access to in your account. You can also link multiple datasets to the same workbook, so you can analyze different metrics without switching tabs or workbooks. When you've connected multiple datasets to a workbook, you can link them to analyze their metrics in a pivot table or chart.

Note:

You can't edit how datasets are linked using the Workbook interface right now, but you can use linked datasets to make new workbook visualizations. For more information, see Dataset Linking in SuiteAnalytics Workbook.

The Workbook user interface is great for ad hoc analysis, with instant formula validation, quick data refresh, and drill-down through your query results. The interface also has a range of customization options for advanced formatting, filtering, and visualizing your data.

The latest version of SuiteAnalytics Workbook lets you create workbooks and datasets for lots of record types. You can also use analytical record types made specifically for Workbook, like the sales (invoiced) record type.

SuiteAnalytics Workbook isn't supported by SuiteBundler. To avoid installation errors, don't include SuiteAnalytics Workbook objects in your bundles. For more information about SuiteBundler, see SuiteBundler Overview.
