India Account Setup

Setting up an account for an organization doing business in India usually requires enabling several features and installing some additional SuiteApps.

Enabling Features for India Account

Some features available in your NetSuite account can be useful for businesses in India. Enable Company, Tax, and SuiteCloud features to make your NetSuite account more suited to business requirements in India. For information about features and prerequisites for specific product areas, see Functional Areas.

Note:

If you don’t have sufficient permissions to enable features, please contact your account administrator.

To enable features:

  1. Go to Setup > Company > Enable Features.

  2. On the Company subtab, go to the International section and check the Multi–language and Multiple Currencies boxes.

  3. On the Tax subtab, go to the Basic Features section and check the GL Audit Numbering box.

  4. (Optional) On the Accounting subtab, go to the Advanced Features section and check the Period Journal Entries and Foreign Currency Variance Mapping boxes.

  5. On the SuiteCloud subtab, enable the desired features on the following subtabs:

    • Suite Builder

    • Suite Script

  6. Click Save.

Available SuiteApps

Some additional features require installation of a specific SuiteApp. SuiteApps are applications that extend NetSuite for specific industry and business needs. For information about the required SuiteApps for specific product areas, see Functional Areas.

India-specific features are currently available in the following SuiteApps:

Taxation

Provides India-specific tax features including generation of Challan vouchers and tax calculation for your transactions.

  • TDS – Calculates Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) for your vendor bill transactions.

  • GST – Calculates Goods and Services Tax (GST) for your sales and purchase transactions.

This Suitepp also provides pre-configured tax codes and tax types that you can use for every new nexus created.

India Localization SuiteTax Reports

Taxation

Provides India-specific tax reporting features including TDS and GST localized tax reports for ease and accuracy of submission.

Electronic Invoicing

Order Management

Provides integration with the GST Suvidha Providers for electronic invoicing as per GST requirements.

Payment Gateway

Order Management

Provides integration with AsiaPay and AsiaPay External Checkout credit card payment gateway for India.

Tax Reporting Framework

Taxation (SuiteTax)

Provides finance users and accountants the ability to generate localized tax reports. This SuiteApp is required before you can install the India Localization SuiteTax Reports SuiteApp.

NetSuite SuiteApps License Client

SuiteApps

Controls an account’s access to the electronic invoicing features. Upon installation, the NetSuite SuiteApps License Client communicates with the NetSuite SuiteApps License Server to obtain active license information.

To install a SuiteApp:

  1. Go to Customization > SuiteBundler > Search & Install Bundles.

  2. Search the following bundles using their names or bundle IDs and install them:

    • Payment Gateway SuiteApp – Provides integration with AsiaPay and AsiaPay External Checkout credit card payment gateway for India.

    • India Localization SuiteTax – The following SuiteApps provide India-specific tax features and must be installed in the order specified:

  3. On the Bundle Details page, click Install.
