Reviewing the Email Approval Log

The approver gatekeeper uses the log to manage, review, and control how all email approval replies are handled.

Note:

In rare cases, concurrency issues may cause a gap between what’s logged and what gets implemented. Concurrency means approvers send their replies at almost the same time.

Approver gatekeepers can review any issues in the email approval log.

To view the email approval log:

  1. Go to Setup > Approval Process Manager > Email Approval Log.

  2. On the Review Email Approval Response page, use the filters to find the email reply records you want to review.

    • Approver – Select your name or another approver.

    • Approval Status – Select the approval status to filter the email reply records you want to review.

    • Start Date – Select a start date for the logs you want to see.

    • End Date – Select an end date. The date range can’t be more than 90 days.

  3. Click Apply Filters.

Email reply records that match your filters show up under the Email Approval Log subtab.

To review an email reply record:

  1. Go to Setup > Approval Process Manager > Email Approval Log.

  2. Click the Internal ID next to the email approval log record you want to view.

  3. Review the email reply record.

  4. To decide whether to implement the approver’s action, click View.

  5. On the Email Approval Log record, click Approve or Reject.

    If you’re rejecting the approver action, you need to enter a reason in the Reason field.
