Reviewing the Email Approval Log

Approver gatekeeper can use the log to manage, review, and control the implementation of all approver replies received through email approval log rules.

Note:

In rare cases, concurrency issues might cause disparity between logged approver actions and implemented approver actions. Concurrency refers to approvers sending their replies at almost the exact same time. Approver gatekeepers can review any issue in the email approval log.

To view the email approval log:

  1. Go to Setup > Approval Process Manager > Email Approval Log.

  2. On the Review Email Approval Response page, work with the filters to find the email reply records you want to review.

    • Approver – Select your name or another approver.

    • Approval Status – Select email reply records based on the approval status of log records.

    • Start Date – Select a start date of when you want to see the logs.

    • End Date – Select an end date. The date range must not exceed 90 days.

  3. Click Apply Filters.

Email reply records matching the filters set are listed under the Email Approval Log subtab.

To review an email reply record:

  1. Go to Setup > Approval Process Manager > Email Approval Log.

  2. Click the Internal ID next to the email approval log record that you want to view.

  3. Review the email reply record.

  4. To implement the approver’s action or not, click View.

  5. On the Email Approval Log record, click Approve or Reject.

    If you are rejecting the approver action, in the Reason field, you must enter a reason.
