EU Intrastat Report Overview
Intrastat is the system for collecting information and generating statistics on goods traded between the European Union (EU) member states. The requirements are similar across all member states.
Larger VAT-registered businesses may need to provide extra information for dispatches and arrivals on Intrastat Supplementary Declaration forms. The EU Intrastat Report in NetSuite provides the ability to generate the dispatches and arrivals information required to complete and submit the Intrastat Supplementary Declaration form.
NetSuite can also generate an EU Intrastat report for any of your EU subsidiaries, if you've installed the International Tax Reports SuiteApp in your account.
You can export the report electronically and upload it to the tax agency website. The following are the formats used for EU Intrastat Filing:
CSV |
XML |
XLS |
---|---|---|
Belgium Finland Germany U.K. |
Belgium |
Denmark France Netherlands |
Take note of the following:
-
Each EU member state has its own threshold for when Intrastat Supplementary Declaration reporting becomes required. Check your country's requirements to see if your tax agency needs this report.
-
Starting January 1, 2022, Germany and the Netherlands won't accept file reports in ASCII format anymore. CSV and XLS formats have replaced ASCII to standardize file formats across the EU.
