Prioritize Minimum Staffing in Schedule Generation
Use minimum staffing levels from staffing plans to guide schedule generation. When a minimum staffing level is defined in the staffing grid, schedule generation prioritizes valid assignments or generated shifts that help reach that baseline staffing level.
Minimum staffing is used as a generation preference. It doesn’t override worker eligibility, work patterns, scheduling rules, or other hard constraints.
- Prioritize assignments that reduce minimum staffing gaps when multiple valid assignment options exist.
- Apply minimum staffing preferences during fixed time pattern generation, automatic assignment, assign open shifts, and open shift generation.
- Staff as close as possible to the configured minimum when the full minimum can’t be reached.
