Location Resource Type

This page is accessed via:

• Shipment Management > Location Manager. On the Resource tab, click New in the Resource Type section.
• Operational Planning > Appointment Management > Dock and Yard Managers. On the Resource tab, click New in the Resource Type section.

You can define resource types for a location. The resource types you define here appear on the Dock Manager.

1. Enter a Resource Type. This field identifies the resource type of the location.
2. Enter a Calendar ID. This is the default calendar used for all location resources associated with this location resource type. It is used unless the location resource has a calendar defined.  A calendar must be defined at this or the Resource level or else all slots will be blocked.  The activities on this calendar must be LOAD and/or RECEIVE in order to open slots for appointments or pickup or
   delivery.
3. Select the Auto Schedule check box if you want the system to automatically schedule an appointment for the resource type.
4. Select the Constrain Appointment check box if the resource type will be used to constrain scheduling of appointments. Various constraints can be defined on an Appointment Rule Set. If you select this check box, the appointment rule sets defined on the location resources or location resource groups will be considered for resource compatibility check, else appointment rule sets are ignored.

Note: You can either have appointment rule sets on the location resource directly or you can select a location resource group available for this location and define the appointment rule sets on that group.

5. Select a Domain from the drop-down list.

1. Click New Resource to define a new location resource.
2. Click Save.
